Privacy Policy
Bitter Candy · Effective date: April 29, 2026 · Last updated: May 2, 2026
The short version. Bitter Candy is a casual mobile game. We collect the minimum data needed to run the game — like a name you type in to join a multiplayer room. We use third-party services (Apple App Store, Google Play, AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase) that may collect device-level data for ads, payments, and crash reporting. We don't sell your personal data. You can play most of the game completely offline. If you have questions, email us at founder@fripplegames.com.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Fripple Games Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Bitter Candy mobile application (the "Game"), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
If you have questions or want to exercise any rights described below, contact us at: founder@fripplegames.com
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us directly
- Player display name. When you create or join an online multiplayer room, you type a name (e.g., "Raghav"). This is shown to other players in the same room. It is not linked to your real identity unless you choose to use your real name.
- Room codes. When you create or join a private online room, a 6-character code is generated (e.g.,
Y2KFQT) so friends can join. Codes are temporary and tied only to the active session.
- In-app feedback. If you contact us with a bug report, suggestion, or question, we receive whatever information you choose to send us (your email, message contents).
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical info. Standard mobile data such as device model, operating system version, language, country, and advertising identifiers (Apple's Identifier for Advertisers / IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android). This helps us understand which devices the Game runs on and detect crashes.
- Gameplay events. Anonymous, aggregated data about gameplay — like which game modes are played, which themes are unlocked, and how long sessions last. This helps us improve the Game.
- Crash and performance data. If the Game crashes, technical diagnostic data is sent to help us fix bugs.
2.3 Information we DO NOT collect
- We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, or address (unless you contact us by email).
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location.
- We do not require you to create an account or log in.
- We do not collect biometric data or government IDs.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run online multiplayer rooms and let friends join your game.
- Show advertisements (see Section 5).
- Process in-app purchases through Apple or Google (see Section 6).
- Detect and fix crashes, bugs, and performance issues.
- Understand which features are popular and improve the Game.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-party services we use
The Game uses the following third-party services. Each one has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles data:
- Apple App Store — for installing, updating, and authenticating purchases on iOS. (Apple Privacy Policy)
- Google Play Services — for installing, updating, and authenticating purchases on Android. (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google AdMob — for showing rewarded video ads (the "Watch Ads" Surprise Lifeline feature). AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data. (AdMob Privacy)
- Apple In-App Purchase / Google Play Billing — for in-app purchases (e.g., candy theme unlocks). Payments are processed by Apple or Google depending on your device. We do not see your full payment details.
- Firebase (Google) — for crash reporting, anonymous analytics, and online room hosting. (Firebase Privacy)
We may add or remove services over time. Material changes will be reflected in this Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising
The Game shows rewarded video ads through Google AdMob when you tap "Watch Ads" to unlock a Surprise Lifeline or candy theme. Ads are only shown when you choose to watch them.
To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your IDFA on iOS or Android Advertising ID), approximate location (country level), and ad interaction data. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings.
We do not show third-party ads to users we believe are under 13. We use AdMob's "child-directed" or "mixed audience" settings as appropriate to limit data collection from minors.
For iOS users: On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple requires apps to ask permission before tracking you across other apps and websites. When you first launch Bitter Candy on iOS, you will see Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. You can choose to allow or deny tracking. Your choice is respected and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you deny, you will still see ads — they will just be less personalized.
6. In-app purchases
The Game offers optional in-app purchases (e.g., candy theme unlocks priced from ₹49). All purchases are processed by Apple In-App Purchase on iOS or Google Play Billing on Android. We receive a confirmation that a purchase happened and which item was bought, so we can unlock it for you. We do not see or store your credit card, debit card, or bank information.
7. Children's privacy
Bitter Candy is rated for ages 9+ / PEGI 7 (mild fantasy peril — references to "poison" candy in a clearly fictional, cartoon context). The Game is designed to be appropriate for general audiences.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from your child, please contact us at founder@fripplegames.com and we will delete it.
For users we believe to be children, we restrict ad behavior in compliance with COPPA, the GDPR-K, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
8. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:
- With other players in the same online room, so they can see the player name you chose.
- With third-party service providers (Section 4) that help us run the Game, on a need-to-know basis.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as a valid court order or law enforcement request.
- In a business transaction, if Bitter Candy is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner — who must continue to honor this Privacy Policy.
9. Data retention
- Online room data (player names, room codes) is deleted automatically when the room closes — typically within 24 hours of the last player leaving.
- Anonymous analytics and crash data is retained for up to 14 months by our analytics providers, then deleted.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your issue, plus a reasonable period for our records (typically 1 year), then deleted.
10. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all online room communication. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International data transfers
Our service providers (Apple, Google) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. By using the Game, you consent to such transfers. Where required by law (e.g., GDPR), our providers use standard contractual clauses or other approved mechanisms to protect your data during transfer.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data.
- Right to deletion — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to object or restrict processing — under certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — request your data in a portable format.
- Right to withdraw consent — at any time, where we rely on consent.
- Right to opt out of personalized ads — by resetting your advertising identifier in your device settings, or by denying the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS.
- Right to lodge a complaint — with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at founder@fripplegames.com. We will respond within 30 days.
For users in California (CCPA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
For users in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR)
The legal bases on which we process your data include: (a) consent, (b) performance of our agreement with you (running the Game), (c) legitimate interests in operating and improving the Game, and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
For users in India (DPDP Act, 2023)
You may withdraw consent, request access to or correction of your data, and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India. To exercise these rights, contact us at founder@fripplegames.com.
13. Permissions the Game requests
- Internet access — to host online multiplayer rooms, show ads, and process in-app purchases.
- Network state — to detect when you go offline and pause online matches.
- App Tracking (iOS only) — optional. You will be asked once on first launch via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Denying still lets you play the Game normally.
The Game does not request location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or storage permissions on either platform.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are material, we will provide a clearer notice (e.g., an in-game banner). We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
